Well I've done it, I've basically deleted all my useless social media accounts… and damn it feels great.

In the last year, and probably since COVID to be honest, I've been noticing my life being eroded by social media. Not in huge chunks of time (I've got more willpower than that) but in small ways.

- Little scroll here
- Interact with a post there
- Laugh at a funny video
- Get back to work

Now, I'm talking increments of maybe 2 minutes of time. But it ads up.

Looking at my daily screen time, I use about 2.5 hours a day on social media.
Which sounds pretty reasonable right?

But lets do the maths on that.

👉 2 minutes x 75 times a day = 2.5 hours a day
👉 2.5 hours a day x 7 days = 17.5 hours a week
👉 17.5 hours a week x 4 weeks = 70 hours a month

So already I've lost basically a work week of time every month to social media.
But let's keep going.

👉 70 hours a month x 12 months = 840 hours 😳

Or put another way...

🤯 35 days a year 🤯

I'm losing over a month a year using social media platforms which aren't doing anything for me but ticking those little dopamine receptor boxes in my brain. Time I could have been continuing to build my business, read more books, learn a new skill, or you know...

ANYTHING ELSE AT ALL. 😱

I've cast off the shackles, deleted accounts, wiped the digital sleep from my eyes, and am more focussed than ever.

Because honestly.
Fuck social media.
